After being disgnosed with gum problems and undergoing deep cleaning and gum surgery in the early 1990's, I have been dreading traditional gum surgery again as my periodontal problems became worse over the last few years. Wanting to keep my teeth in my head, however, I resigned myself to the procedure and almost went ahead.

Fortunately, having heard Dr. Broten's advertisements about laser gum surgery, I decided to determine if indeed there was a better way to solve my problems. First, I talked with a patient of Dr. Broten who has recieved the same treatment I was considering. She was very pleased with the procedure and the result. Following the conversation, I did some research online. It was clear I needed to take it to the next step.

Dr. Broten not only conducted a full examination of my teeth and gums and explained in detail my problems as evidenced by the deep pockets, bleeding and x-rays, we also talked at length about the laser surgery procedure and the results I could expect. She reinforced what I had learned about how, relative to traditional gum surgery, laser surgery is not only less invasive and less painful than traditional surgery, it is more productive in terms of mitigating gum problems, speeding recovery, enhancing bone growth and lessening the ongoing challenges of maintaining a mouth with periodontal disease.

Frankly, it all sounded too good; I couldn't find a downside. I concluded laser surgery is a better approach - and, so far, the results seem to support my conclusion. First, the laser surgery for my whole mouth took only about 2 hours and my initial recovery has been essentially painless and quick. After sleeping off the pain medications, I was up in the evening and eating some pureed squash soup. The next day, with no discomfort and bleeding, I was in my office. Today, the 6th day out, I am feeling fine and looking forward to my checkup with Dr. Broten tomorrow and getting back to more solid food.

At this point I have no reason to question the viability of this procedure, and I am cautiously optimistic that my research and your assertions will be validated that the surgery has substantially eliminated the bacteria problem and facilitated bone growth. Time will tell, but, so far so good!

I will testify that the "Frisco Dental" office, ran by Dr. Sarah Broten and her team, is now known to be the best dentist ever known. I say to all the people that struggle with Dentist issues (from cleaning to surgery) Dr. Broten and Team are the ones to go to.
